Mission Statement
At TBS, we endeavour to sustain a happy, stable, safe and orderly environment in which children are educated and developed to their full potential. We equip our pupils with the basic tools for learning i.e. literacy, numeracy and oracy, in accordance with the national curriculum, offering a broad and balanced curriculum. We provide pupils with first hand experiences in order to make the work stimulating and meaningful. This will encourage a positive and enthusiastic approach to work. We aim to develop independence, co-operation and self motivation in our pupils. We endeavour to foster good relationships between school, home and the community. As we believe that children learn best in an environment free from prejudice, we actively encourage respect for and understanding of all cultures and faiths within the school and wider community. We aim to offer equality of opportunity for all pupils. We value our children and their opinions and encourage this caring attitude throughout the school. Children learn best when their efforts are recognized resulting in a sense of worth and achievement.
Curriculum
At The British School, we have synthesized the skills of the Cambridge curriculum with the content of the Indian syllabi. This combination will help to develop a ‘global child’. Our skill oriented curriculum focuses on the development of the whole child through the use of various learning materials and offers a dynamic individualized learning environment to meet the needs of each student. TBS curriculum caters to the developing mind of the child. The curriculum is so designed as to take the children away from the boredom of the blackboards and introduce them to a world of internet, video, CD, White Interactive Smart Boards with Projector and LCD TV. Students are taught by a well trained qualified teachers supported by teaching assistants. We have prepared our own schedule wherein students are taught with a targeted approach field trips and experimenting in class-rooms is a regular feature of our studies. This pursuit of excellence extends beyond the classroom. On the sports field and across our huge range of cultural and leisure activities, every child has endless opportunities to discover his/her individual talents and is encouraged to set and pursue his/her personal goals. The basic aim is to develop the child in all aspects of disposition, attitude, self-confidence and self–control. Our methodology is to make the education stress free all while preparing them for a bright future.
