The 70-acre campus at Palada serves as the senior campus of the Good Shepherd International School. The following facilities are provided at the campus:SWIMMING POOL
The Half Olympic six lane indoor heated swimming pool facility has adequate changing and locker room provision for 40 boys and 40 girls. The water will be maintained at a constant temperature of 27 degrees centigrade using state of art boilers with electronic controls. A 3-metre diving spring board and two 1 meter diving boards are provided at the deep end of the pool. The filtration equipment provided will ensure international health standards in water cleanliness. The facility also has adequate indoor seating for 400 spectators for competition events. The total area of this building is 17,650 sq ft.
ATHLETIC STADIUM
This Olympic size athletic field has provision for an 8 lane 400 meter track with state of art synthetic surface, a full size football field and facilities for all field events. This will be the only facility of its kind in the Nilgiris. A grandstand will seat 1200 spectators with adequate toilet provision gathering space will be provided for 500 athletes and a ceremonial archway provided for them to march into the stadium. The total area of the covered grandstand is 10,500 sq ft.
THE REFECTORY
A kitchen and dining facility that will serve the entire school and staff is built. The kitchen is strictly separated into vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections. State of the art cooking equipment using diesel - generated steam are designed and installed by experts. The cleaning of dishes and plates are totally mechanized and conform to International standards. Separate cold storage"s for Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are provided. A bakery to cater to the school"s complete bread and pastry requirement is constructed. Collection, storage and disposal of waste using non-polluting incinerators is part of this facility. Strict care has been taken to conform to international health standards in the design of the facility.
The dinning room, which is circular in shape is designed to take advantage of the excellent view of the surrounding hill. The refectory is connected by covered bridges to the academic and residential sections of the campus. The total area of the refectory building is 38,000 sq ft.
THE DORMITORY
The Dormitory constructed in modules will accommodate 70 boys and 70 girls. The total facility will accommodate 560 students in bunk beds. The modules are designed to take advantage of the excellent view, with adequate ventilation and natural lighting. Running hot water will be provided in all bath room and wash basins.
A separate room for storage and cleaning of footwear is built. Each module has a warden"s quarter and rooms to accommodate 4 staff members. Eight dorm nurses is housed within each module to keep it sparkling clean. The total area of the dormitory building is 69,000 sq ft.
THE ACADEMIC BUILDING
The academic building has 56 classrooms. Each room has adequate storage provisions for the entire class. The building is networked to provide adequate computers. In addition to regular classroom, the building has language rooms, science labs, computer lab, music rooms, dance rooms , staff rooms and adequate toilet facilities for boys and girls. The building also has two 200 seated audio visual rooms with state of the art projection facilities. The total area of the academic building is 44,000 sq ft.
EQUESTRIAN FACILITY
Stables to keep 20 horses, a training ring and a gallop ring are constructed in the southern section of the campus. The area of the stables building is 2000 sq ft.
OUTDOOR SPORTS FACILITY
A large skating rink, three basketball courts, three volleyball courts, eight tennis courts and four badminton courts are built in the open space between the buildings.
SQUASH COURTS
Two indoor squash courts meeting international standards is provided in the campus.
ARTIFICIAL LAKE
A lake of 300 meter length is provided using PVC lining. This will be used to promote water sports.
SAFETY FEATURES
All latest safety precautions, including intrusion alarms and fire-fighting equipments are provided. The school also has a fully equipped Fire Engine ready for duty.
